Nylon Mag - Mexico!

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Buenas Dias Hombres!

We just got a nice little feature of our Spring 10 line in Nylon Magazine, the Mexican edition of it to be exact. Feels nicely exotic as it’s mf*n freezing in Helsinki today. Wouldn’t mind being down there with a San Miquel in my hand, rocking my sombrero and cruising around the desert with my donkey…

Big up Nylon Mag! Love your content.

More pics from Gavin…

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Gav sent me some pictures of him objectively capturing Helsinki in it’s darkest month. Some (high) lights here and there… The blurriness treats the pictures well. Finland appears a bit fuzzy due to it’s lack of light.

Good nights spent at the Glo Hotel in Helsinki. Nice design hotel that actually had someone doing the unfortunate Pulp Fiction move during Gavins stay. Don’t mix up your heroin and think it’s coke. O.D granted…

Streets of HKI!

blog-roll_013_023

Have to love the trams. Been riding them for free forever. Inside hint is to watch out for the Smurfs. They are the old ladies clad in blue who will bust you for riding without a ticket. It’s a 80 euro fee, so keep an eye out for them.. Even though i’m nowadays happy with occasionally paying for the ride as it is a great service…

Some images from Gavins display of works… Raving 89… Since 89!

More of the same….

The artist himself.. But who took the pic? Good work…

blog-roll_013_016

There’s an exhibition at the same venue that goes by the name of Young Artists… . They had some cool stuff in there. Polar bears are always cool i guess.

blog-roll_013_012

Suvi, the girl on the right is the one running the museum and she’s doing a heck of a job! Oskari on the left side knows a lot about a lot that you don’t know anything about…

blog-roll_013_011

Off to the after party.. Met a random dude… Is he the one who stole my signed Raving 89 book?

Yours truly. Courtesy of Gavin Watson…

Drinks are hard to get once the last 15 minutes hits in at the bar… While your trying to eye the bar tender down you’ll have someone keeping you busy with a dizzy conversation…

Thanks Gavin for the pictures and hope to see you in a warmer Helsinki soon.

Gavin Watson paid a visit…

Monday, December 14th, 2009

This should have come up last week. But you know, weeks just seem to disappear.. Hours are seconds, days are fast passing moments and so forth. Anyways, our main man http://gavinwatsonsphotography.blogspot.com/ paid a visit in Helsinki for his Raving 89 exhibition opening at Kunst Halle. Good show and stellar chap that Gavin dude. He’s always sending me new and old footage that he’s been taking along his journeys.

Here’s an old pic of his brother Neville, who has appeared throughout the history of Gavins works. Rocking that RockaBilly steez with flare!

As you might have read before, CTRL was a part of it with the exhibition over at the stellar SOURCE store.

Bon Jour!

My man Benny from Be-Street Magazine sent me this epic piece of illustration. It appears in the newest issue of Be-Street, Issue # 7. They have reworked on some really famous biblical illustrations from one of the most famous illustrations of Gustave Doré. Basically they remixed Gustavos biblical illustration themes with some fresh clothing pieces.. Credit goes out to the french illustrator PlaymoO who’s the talent behind the illustrations.

On this first page, they had a push on the angel with a CTRL x STADIUM jacket !

Cover flows swell with MISHKA keeping watch!

REEDE - Tallinn - fuzzy timess….

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Tanel, our homie in Tallinn sent over some sweet B.F flicks from a closing party that he threw at the old REEDE in beautiful Tallinn. If you don’t know about REEDE and you’re headig over to the old Hansa Town in Tallinn, it’s definitely worth checking out. Tanel is keeping it clean as always with a top notch selections from brands like Wood Wood, Henrik Vibskov, CTRL, Stüssy, Krew, Adidas, Vans, Krink, Arkitip, good selection of skateboards and hardware + all the other small details that enlighten your existence as an individual. This is a bit of old news, but hey, better late than never. REEDE has moved to a bigger location at the new concept mall downtown called the SOLARIS!

Some flicks taken with an old Olympus Mju and Tanels sharp eye…
